Weekly Photo Challenge: Opportunity

These are migrant workers from poorer regions of India who come to Goa in order to deepen the river. By means of manual labour.

I’ve forgotten their exact daily wage but you could easily spend it at Starbucks. They work all day and camp out by the river at night. They do this for a few months and then go home to their families. To you and me, it’s back-breaking work, fit as punishment. To them, it’s an opportunity to improve their lives. Do we appreciate how fortunate we are?
