Well, it’s a good thing I took those snapshots of the nasturtium this morning — for now it’s gone. There was a freak hailstorm that lasted perhaps ten minutes but flattened everything unprotected. The hail banged so hard against the windows that I worried they would break, while our neighbour was concerned about the shingles on her roof.
Charlie was nowhere to be found but turned up later, somewhat wet but otherwise unharmed — she must have found shelter somewhere.
The tomato stems were lying flat on the ground — we bound them back up and hope they just got bent, not broken.
Will assess the rest of the damage tomorrow.
