Just a few cellphone pictures from a quick walk to the mailbox to post my tax return. I discovered the first few coloured leaves on the ground. Fall is coming.
I usually go barefoot when I’m out with the cats or when going to the mailbox. I am sure the neighbours find this extremely weird — but I walked barefoot in this street decades ago, when most of them weren’t even here yet. So I deem it my prerogative.:)
There are a couple of hazelnut trees in our street. When I was a little girl, I would collect the husks and my grandmother would dry them on her oven until the nuts fell out. People don’t seem to do this anymore.
It is fun to watch the crows, however. They sit and wait for a car to drive by and crack the nuts for them. Clever creatures!
