It’s not easy being Isla

I’ve been cleaning up around here and come across a container of bird seed we didn’t use up. Since I don’t want to keep it until next winter, I’ve decided to use it up by putting some out on the unfinished roof terrace every now and then. So far, this has attracted a growing number of sparrows (from two at the beginning to up to at least six now — clearly they do talk), which is good since I’m still feeling guilty about robbing them of their homes.

Isla, however, is enraged by them — particularly by their habit of showing up only when she is locked up inside, never when she is on the terrace herself. She’s given the matter some thought and decided that what she needed to do was hide:

They can’t see me now

Somehow the sparrows didn’t fall for it, though, even though she waited a long time…

Waiting is hard work

  1. Isla is a very fine cat.
Please give her a kitty pat for me.

  2. Thank you, I will. We’ve been having a houseguest for the past few days (and will again next week), so Isla’s routines have been upset quite a bit and she can definitely do some extra attention.

  3. Awww…the birdies get the better deal , do they?
